monday, baby.

Today. Oh, today.

The pictures have nothing whatsoever to do with this blog post. I just needed to break up all the text, and wanted to share them at the same time. So, bare with me on this lovely A.D.H.D. day…

We went (my sisters and I) to Donna and her ex’s apartment to get Donna’s stuff, and bring it back to the house. Naturally, there was drama. Her ex came in there, called me “baby” a few times until I got nearly severely bent out of shape. Some retarded neighbor felt like putting in his .02 was absolutely necessary, and he made me want to get physical with him (and not in a freaky way).

We got most of her stuff, I think. Nobody got hurt. But I still think that neighbor could have used a good open hand high five to his face.

That other guy, the one I thought was making me happy, has been out of town. He called today, because from 5 states away, he heard I was in a certain bar Saturday night. What? Seriously? I’m going national :) That’s just crazy.

It’s been a long day. I’m exhausted, tired, and irritated with people… but I still think this is quite funny. Say this outloud… Spell I-H-O-P then say “ness” - if you don’t hear it when you say it, have someone else say it. I nearly choked on some mac & cheese tonight when I had Donna say it for me, and I finally heard it… LoL.. so, have fun with that. And have a better Monday than me!!

New Orleans Cemeteries

They are among the most beautiful I have ever seen. Ever since I can remember, and long before my first ever digital camera, I have had a strong desire to go to the city to get some shots in the cemeteries there. I’m sure most people wouldn’t find them beautiful, but they captivate me, completely and entirely. Maybe someday soon, I can visit a few. Especially this one, since it not only captivates, but intrigues me due to the mere fact that some filming from Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire was done there…

BFF Rodeo Days

I just came across this pictures of these boys*. It’s from May 2007 at a local Bull Riding / Barrel Racing event. I love finding pictures that reflect on their friendship over the years, and I know someday they will love that I have so many of them when they were kids. I have friends today that I have had since I was N’s age, and it’s an amazing thing to remain friends that long. I wish that for my son. That, and many new, wonderful friends along the way. Somehow though, the comfort of someone who has known you since childhood is something that is irreplaceable. It’s a comfort, and a treasure.

I adore this picture of them. Even though you can’t see their faces, you can see the bigger picture - the bond of friendship (and two little boys who at that moment, wanted to grow up and be bull riders).  I can’t tell you enough how much I love watching my son form these friendship bonds.

*Just in case you happen to not recognize them from my previous posts, it’s N and his friend.

The Girl

  • profileHowdy! I'm the girl that writes here. This is where I organize my thoughts, and document the real life experiences of me and my son. You will find crazy funny stories, obsessively photoshopped pictures, some random yet awesome links, craftacular stuff, creative frugalness, and strong opinions here. Grab a drink, maybe one on the rocks, and sit for a spell. Oh, and read. This is a blog, after all!
