Juno

What a good, sweet little movie. It was a great way to spend some time alone. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, I just wanted to know MORE at the end…. I liked Ellen Page as Juno. She was great. I love how she just fit into the role so perfectly – she’s cute, charismatic and very talented. I think she’ll be a favorite before too long. Jennifer Garner – who doesn’t love her? I thought her character was a little awkward in the movie, but I think generally it’s because there wasn’t a lot of background given to clue the viewer in as to what she’d previously been through while trying to adopt. Loved Jason Batemen – but honestly, he could play any role and I would still love him. He’s old school – gotta love some old school.

Anyway… I’m losing my train of thought… I would recommend this movie. It’s a nice little detour from life’s daily rituals. If I had ten stars to give out per movie, I would give this one six.  Six is good.  But, alas… I’m no critic. And you should also know, I’m generally easy to please.

Happy Hump Day, y’all!

P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You

I adored this movie. No question about it. It moved me to tears, and had me laughing at the same time. It gave me something to hope for, something to believe in. Maybe I am clinging too much to the fairytale, and even though this movie is based on a heartbreaking event it’s beautifully portrayed and left me with a bigger “knowing” of what it is I want out of a life partner. Of course, I don’t want everything the movie offers, just the good stuff… but out of the bad/tragic part is where the beauty of what once was really shined through. It affected me deeply.

I am not saying it’s a deep movie, or it’s going to change your life, but I think it changed something inside of me. It certainly made me feel something I haven’t felt in a long while. It’s worth watching, multiple times. I have a feeling this is going to be added to my list of movies-to-watch-when-i-am-depressed. Because laughter mixed with tears cures an ailment in my soul that no prescription can ever offer…

My Favorite Quotes

Boys are found everywhere – on top of, underneath, inside of, climbing on, swinging from, running around or jumping to. Mothers love them, little girls hate them, older sisters and brothers tolerate them, adults ignore them and Heaven protects them. A boy is Truth with dirt on its face, Beauty with a cut on its finger, Wisdom with bubble gum in its hair and the Hope of the future with a frog in its pocket. — Alan Marshall Beck
