Who’s That Girl?

* My name is Heather. This is a picture of me.

* I am a mother. I am mother to a happy, healthy 9 year old (aka N ’round these parts), as well as my two angels, Elijah who would be 8 years old this year, and Jamie, who would be 5 years old this year. They are all, each one of them, a huge part of who I am. I carry them with me everyday, in my heart, in my mind, and on my skin.

* I can be quite funny, and at times borderline obnoxious and rude. I prefer witty and charming, though.

* I’m a stay at home/work at home mom. I recently became employed full-time, am about to drop back to part-time, and am on the prowl for another full-time position somewhere else. I work full time, and then some… managing a small cafe in the small town I live in… I have worked as a graphic designer for a government contractor at Stennis Space Center for the past 2 years.. Even though I’d much rather just win the lottery. Or meet the very wealthy man of my dreams :)

*My son N is the light of my life. He is 9 years old. He might be a comedian someday. Yes, he’s THAT funny. However, I think it’s more likely he will become a meteorologist – he is OBSESSED with the weather.

* I love my friends, and am loyal to them. Some people call themselves friends, but they are not. I got nothing for those people.

* I love all things vintage and retro. (yes, even the “ugly” stuff!)

* I breathe photography – I am rarely caught without my camera, and I appreciate photography by others.

* I brake for yard sales. Seriously.

* I still believe in fairy tales and happy endings, despite all of the tragedy that has found it’s way into my life.

* I am an active member of our local Women’s Civic Club. I am not old enough for all that drama….

* I enjoy reading all types of books, mostly non-fiction (true crime, preferably) & literature.

* I love the Twilight Saga. I am in love with Edward Cullen. Yes, I am one of those people.

* I love arts & crafts & all things indie.

* I love to learn, and am always looking for an opportunity to gain knowledge about any and every thing possible.

* I am pursuing a college degree, and at the ripe age of 35 29 I am still undecided about what I want to be when I grow up. I wish being happy was considered successful and paid the bills, because really, that’s what I’m all about. Just being happy.

*For the first time in my life, I’m doing it all on my own. Freshly divorced, out of my temporary stay at my mother’s house, I have my own place for me and my boy. Due to a severe paycut, and this lovely recession, we’ve landed back at my mother’s house for an indefinite period of time. It’s hard, we struggle, but ultimately, at the end of every day, we have smiles on our faces. It feels good to be able to do this. To know that I am capable.

“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited.” ~ Sylvia Plath

My Favorite Quotes

I think of myself as an intelligent, sensitive human being with the soul of a clown which always forces me to blow it at the most important moments. — Jim Morrison
