girl, interviewed

I’m excited about this post! Kori over at See Kori Rant sent me these interview questions to answer in a blog post. I like the idea of answering questions that are being posed at me, instead of just in general. So, after thinking about these for quick minute, I’m going to give it my best shot …

1. If you could kill someone and KNOW that there would be NO legal repercussions at all, would you, could you do it?  And who would it be and why?
Once upon a time in my life, I think I would have said yes to this question. However, I will have to say without a doubt, that since becoming a mother that there is absolutely, unequivocally no possible way that I could, or would ever take someones life.
2. What one thing would you like to change about your life right this minute?
One thing, right this minute – I would be sitting under my own roof, and not my mothers. N and I would be living in our own home. Whether it be rented or owned, it wouldn’t matter to me – we would just not be here.
3.  What is the best day you have ever had (no fair using kid’s births; we all know how great that is!)?  And why?
This is really tough. Really, really tough. Because I want so badly to say “the day N was born”! And I’m not going to say my wedding day, ya know, since I’m sitting here counting down the days to my divorce lol…
So, I’m going to pick a day that has nothing to do with anyone but ME (and watch me not feel guilty about it!). My best day would have to have been April 11, 2008 when me and Steph (from The Dish & The Spoon) hopped a plane for Los Angeles. That day we had such uninhibited girly fun, flew the farthest we have ever flown, I rode in a cab for the first time, saw California for the first time, ate Sushi and drank Sake at a lovely restaurant in the Hollywood hills, checked into a hotel that neither of us could ever afford, and laughed ourselves stupid at the whole irony of it all! — I won that trip, and I never win anything. It was really, really amazing. (So were the next 2 days we spent there – the following night we went to the Hotel Cafe Tour with our V.I.P. All Access Passes and got to meet the likes of Cary Brothers, Jessie Baylin, William Fitzsimmons, Jim Bianco, Meiko, Ingrid Michaelson & Priscilla Ahn – It was heavenly!)  I should relive this trip via a couple of blog posts, because I could seriously go on, and on, and on about it…
4. By the same token, what was the worst? (and no doing a City Slickers and saying “Same one.”)
(LOVE the City Slickers reference Kori – genius :) )
I have had a few “worst days”… so to be fair, I guess I’ll go with the 1st worst day ever.  May 26, 2003 – I was pregnant with my 2nd child, a boy. Long story short, I had been having some bleeding/cramping, had been in the ER 6 times, and this day was the day that my son was born an angel. At home. In the toilet. I know, I’m trying not to be graphic, I just want it to be clear why it was one of my worst days ever. Honestly, I didn’t think I would survive that day, or the days that followed. I almost didn’t want to. The next worst day was August 20, 2007 when virtually the exact same thing happened to me again. These are the tragedies in my life that send me into downward spirals of depression, over and over again. And N is the only reason that I am ever able to come out of it.
5. Who is your favorite blogger and why?
I have several blogs that I check very regularly (see my blogroll to the right). I can think of at least 3 right now that are my top picks, and I like them all for very, very different reasons. They all speak to me on a different level (if that makes any sense). However, I suppose I will go with the one that I discovered first, the one that inspired me to start blogging, and that would be The Pioneer Woman. Although her blog has become very commercialized (in my opinion), I am still addicted to it. Why? I think I an enamored with the life she leads. Probably a bit jealous, too. But, I find hope in the silliest of things, and even though hers seems much more of a fairytale than I will ever have, it keeps my hope alive that maybe, someday… just maybe. Oh, and I love her photography section! Love, love, love it!
And I’m going to cheat and say, that next, in this order my favorites are: See Kori Rant, Attack of the Redneck Mommy, The Dish & The Spoon, and Quiet Life. (I don’t usually cheat, so cut me some slack! LoL)
So, there you go! My interview questions answered! If you want me to interview you, leave a comment and be sure to include “Interview Me!” (and make sure I have your email address) and I will send you some questions! Thanks for reading – Have a great Tuesday!
And I’ll leave you with some pictures, from California of course… because now it’s stuck in my mind (and I want to go back)…
Stephanie and Me on the steps of the Magic Castle Hotel in Hollywood, CA
Our spread at Yamashiro in Hollywood – top of the hill, with the most beautiful view of L.A. right outside of our window – it was amazing.
We fell in love with Cafe Audrey, about a block off of Hollywood Blvd. We ooh’d and aah’d at every square inch of this classy, cozy cafe. And as a special treat, we got to meet the owner who showed us photo albums of renovation of the cafe – very neat experience!

  • Kori:

Thank you SO much for playing along; I loved your answers, and really have enjoyed getting to know you better through this. A lot. And please do post more about your trip; it sounds SO much fun, and of course it should all be about you! Though given your worst day(s), I can understand anew any N.’s birth was the best. Again, thank you!

i loved that trip! was one of the highlights of my life! can’t wait to go back!

  • Thank YOU Kori for the great interview questions! That was a lot of fun. Now, I need to finally organize all of those pictures from Los Angeles so I can blog about it all..

Steph we need to plan another trip out that way. Even if we don’t get to stay a block off of Hollywood Blvd, this time, it would be worth it anyway just to BE there lol…. but next time, I’m going to Spahn Ranch! :)

I kept forgetting to ask Kori for questions, so I’ll ask you instead! Send me some and I’ll see if I can be witty and amusing. Or at least entertaining.

Someday your prince charming will come. Mine just took a wrong turn, got lost, and is too stubborn to ask for directions.
