This weekend seemed to be “Fair Weekend” around here… Saturday we hit up a company Fair that a dear friend of mine (who happens to also be the mother of N’s friend S) works for. So, they got to hang out together, and it was great as usual. I love watching them. I know, I’ve gushed about this before, but I really do love watching their friendship blossom.
N, however, doesn’t like to ride rides. He gets it honestly. From me. I hate rides. S on the other hand, will ride anything available - he’s fearless like that. So, that was a small conflict. Thankfully though, the games were cheap-o and they both enjoyed that. I was dishing out dollar after dollar (dollar for the kids games, dollar for mom a beer - ha!).
It was fun. Good times, with good people. Oh, and bad music. And cold beer. Does it get any better?
Speaking of bad music, check out my boy breaking it down for S - doing the robot, no less. He cannot help it, I tell you. He is my son, and unfortunately it’s a genetic condition.
Sunday, my sister, N and I went to the Street Fair in Picayune. It’s awesome, I love it - I go every year. Sections of town are closed off and there are tents lining the street with crafts and such. I’m so in my element there. I didn’t do a lot of purchasing this year, I never do - I scout for ideas mostly lol…
However, we did get some delicious alligator on a stick. It was N’s first time having Alligator and he LOVED it.. despite the fact that he is now missing his two front, top teeth and had one heck of a hard time getting the ‘gator off of the stick LoL… it was funny. He managed it quite well.
I ended up with a pair of bloomers with my cousins baby’s name monogrammed on the butt (so damn cute!!) and a camoflauge beer coolie with a giant orange “H” monogrammed on it. Classy, eh?
Oh, but how could I forget — just 15 minutes from home, in Picayune, I saw this…
I got so excited that first, I filled up my car… second, I took this picture… third, I texted everyone in my phone with SPECIFIC instructions on how to get to this gas station. Yes, I get very excited by low gas prices. I can’t help it. I’d much rather spend my money on something that’s going to count as retail therapy.

Howdy! I'm the girl that writes here. This is where I organize my thoughts, and document the real life experiences of me and my son. You will find crazy funny stories, obsessively photoshopped pictures, some random yet awesome links, craftacular stuff, creative frugalness, and strong opinions here. Grab a drink, maybe one on the rocks, and sit for a spell. Oh, and read. This is a blog, after all!
