after effects

Life after seeing Twilight is… weird. I have to tell myself that real men don’t sparkle. Oh, how I wish they did though. Maybe if I put that at the top of my requirements list (Man that sparkles) it will help me keep the losers I attract at bay. Haha. “I’m sorry honey, but you just don’t sparkle…”
This week is going to be a long one… no work, and N is out of school all week for Thanksgiving Vacation. I am actually looking forward to it though. I don’t feel like I ever get to spend time with him anymore, mostly in thanks to that job. I’m happy that now that the holiday season is upon us, I am free to spend as much time with my boy as I want.

my Twilight

I have been transformed. I have now officially seen Twilight the movie. And can I just say, in no uncertain terms, that I loved it!!
I went into the theater so nervous, with very low expectations. I tried to forget the book, and watch the movie with an open mind. I realize they could not follow the book exactly, and I didn’t want that to be a crutch for me disliking or criticizing the movies. Man, was I pleasantly surprised. I think they did an amazing job!
These actors, they are Edward and Bella. They brought them to life for me in ways I didn’t know they could or would. I am still irrevocably in love with Edward Cullen. Probably even more so now. At times he seemed a little awkward, but he was supposed to be awkward. It was just perfect, and I couldn’t be more happy with it.
I loved the vampire baseball scene. It was beautiful to see that part of the book come to life with such beauty and precision. Alice was great, and Jasper and his bat tricks were a little hot. Even though he looked a lot like Edward Scissorhands throughout the movie. It would have been really nice to get a little more interaction between them (Alice & Jasper) and Bella. But, I suppose there was a story to tell and it revolved more around the love between Edward and Bella. It worked out beautifully.
I had so many “favorite parts” that I don’t even know where to begin. I loved when James said “You brought a snack” – wow, was that hot!! I loved when Edward caught the apple. I loved when Edward had to suck the venom from Bella’s arm. I love when Charlie was cleaning his gun and Edward was there to meet him. I love the way they arrived at school together and turned everyone’s heads. I loved Edward’s struggle in Biology class (and am especially thankful that I was able to read Midnight Sun to understand his struggle). Mostly though, I loved the way he adored and protected her. And the way she loved him without regard to her own safety or caring what others might think. Oh, and when the Cullens made their on screen appearance as they entered the cafeteria… it was as if time was frozen. It was beautiful.
I can’t wait to go see it again.

Today is Twilight Day!

Twilight opens today! Oh.dear.heavens. The anxiety is going to kill me. I have been back and forth in my mind over the thousands of reasons why we should go see it tonight, and why we should go see it tomorrow. I know that Lacie is going tonight with friends, and I have been tempted to call and say “I’m coming with!” now that my job isn’t holding me back, but I think I won’t. Steph already bought advance tickets for us to go tomorrow, so I will be patient a little longer. Maybe we can avoid some of the droves of teenage girls (as if).
I think tonight, I’ll just go get my drink on to distract myself from the fact that the world is watching Twilight… while I wait… ya herd?
the Twilight of joblessness

Things are rolling along smoothly. No word from my sister. She is under strict orders not to see or talk to me until I get to see the movie on Saturday. If I even lay eyes on her, I will attack and badger her with a thousand questions that I really don’t want anyone else’s version of – I want my OWN version, only. It’s killing me though, knowing she knows all about it now… aaah
And last night at work sucked ass! I found out, last night via email from the new director, that last night would be my last night. How shitty. I requested to go back to PRN (part-time) and keep 2 days a week on the schedule for me to work through the 1st of the year. Apparently my going back PRN gave her the legal loophole she needed to hire someone full-time. And so she did. And the girl takes over MY schedule next week. What a bitch, huh? Our personalities clashed from the day she took over. She seems to have plenty of people there fooled, but I’m here to say it out-loud – she’s a manipulating bitch who sugarcoats everything with her fake/sweet condescending voice. She can shove that job up her vajayjay.
So now, I’m a little paranoid. Being jobless this close to Christmas is just scary, but I know me and I know I’ll figure it all out and make it work. The one thing I won’t do, ever, is kiss ass to keep a job. Or kiss ass in general. No. This girl is no ass kisser.
Twilight at midnight

**sigh**
Tonight is the midnight screening of Twilight. I’m so disappointed that I will be missing it due to work. And so jealous that my sister will be there for midnight to see the movie I have so desperately been waiting to see.
I have to say, though, I am quite nervous about seeing it. My expectations are low, because I’m terrified of being disappointed. From what I have read of the movie, it appears that they have stayed pretty true to the book. I hope there isn’t anything really off the wall, it just wouldn’t be right.
I wish that just this once, they would make the Twilight Saga into movies and use the books as the script for the movie – not leaving anything out. I realize it would be obscenely long. And I also realize I would still watch it, over and over. Make it a mini-series. That’d be grand!
P.S. – I’m skipping Thankful Thursday and Flickr Friday this week due to my obsessive nature towards the pending Twilight movie release
his blingish skin
This article about the new Twilight movie had me cracking up. It’s a great article, first off… and put to rest some of my fears about the book to movie transition. Some of the author’s choice words are amusing, to say the least. Check it out, it’s a good read. Here are some notable quotes from the article that had me laughing..
Hardwicke tenderly builds the love story of the emotionally lost Bella (Kristen Stewart
) and BVOC (Big Vampire On Campus) Edward (Robert Pattinson). Their relationship develops under cloudy skies. That’s not being metaphorical. It seems vampires have blingish skin that sparkles in direct sunlight.
Okay, BVOC? Brilliant!! And yes, I’d say Edward Cullen is indeed the Big Vampire On Campus. I wish I’d thought of that. And as you can tell by the title of this post, I love his “blingish skin” – so funny. I’m very curious to see how they blinged his skin in the movie… I only hope it’s half as good as I have imagined Edward Cullen’s blingish skin (I just like saying that now).
The action picks up in the last fourth of the book, when Bella becomes the blue-plate special for a group of vampires who prefer to dine from the human menu.
Keep in mind, I’m easily amused… blue-plate special made me snort. I like this guys style of writing.
