Summer Thunderstorms
posted by: heathergirl7 @ 5:19 pmI have lived in South Louisiana for the better part of my 33 years on Earth. I was born and raised here, and you would think I would be used to the way things just happen… like random late afternoon thunderstorms. However, it never ceases to amaze me how we can go from one extreme to the next… within an hour… I’ll let the pictures tell the story…

What kind of chickens are those and when is the BBQ?
They’re hens, that’s all I know. And the yellowish ones lay “easter eggs” that are a very pale green… like this … It looks white, kind of, in this picture… but it’s not. I will have to get some good ones. It took me awhile before I could eat them. And these are not for BBQ, thank you very much… they provide us with eggs. Daily.
do you have to hunt down the eggs or do they have a hutch?
well, a couple of them like to lay around the yard, in flower beds and stuff. One in particular (the “save yourself” one, to be exact) likes to lay hers in the goat pen. They have a fenced off area with a roost and something (I guess you could call a hutch, or a nest, or whatever) that my sister and I built for them. I guess I will get pictures of all that too. And one of how when it’s feeding time you have to hold up the aluminum can lid and fight them off like it’s your armor so you can get the food out of the bucket…. that is funny. I scream bloody murder when it’s my turn… lol
Btw… N usually gets the eggs with his Gran. I just scrub the chicken poop off of them
lol, how many do you get per day?
Have you figured out why they are green and is the egg instide green when boiled or normal?
The eggs are just regular eggs on the inside, and we get on average around a dozen a day I suppose.
